Legal Experts Weigh in on Gibson’s case

In this article from CNN, several attorneys licensed to practice in California weigh in on some of the aspects of the pending domestic violence and child custody cases involving Mel Gibson and his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva. As I suspected, these attorneys do not anticipate these recordings having a significant impact on Gibson child custody case.

If you ever saw the 1939 movie, The Women, you may recall the scenes in the movie that take place in Reno where Mary waits for her divorce to be finalized. What’s a child to do?

According to this article, a child sued her father for the payment of her college tuition and related expenses. After the two day trial, the judge found in favor of the child and awarded her $47,000, which included the tuition cost and counsel fees. I am often asked about a parent’s obligation to pay for a child’s college eduction in Pennsylvania. The information I tell these people is usually not well received. Read more…

Dissecting the Tiger-Elin Divorce Settlement (Part II)

As I mentioned in a prior post, it was reported that, as a result of their divorce settlement, Elin Nordegren is supposed to receive $750 million from Tiger Woods. Since Elin in forbidden under the alleged terms of the settlement to discuss the case, the specifics of the deal can only be disclosed by Tiger.
